(We wish all our readers a very Happy Christmas!)
Christmas Quarter Selling Exhibition - 29 March 2025
Christmas is nearly here with its promise of warm winter wine. Unbelievable that this year is almost at an end. After a surprisingly warm few weeks in November, a fierce storm in December, we hope the weather is settling down for our annual Turrill Christmas quarter Selling Exhibition which extends into March.
The emphasis this year is on the natural world. And we have some wonderful things for you to see. There is a menagerie of whimsical and wonderful creatures: ducks and frogs in compromising positions,
There are birds and animals and plants In glass, metal, bronze resin, ceramic and stone. So many special Christmas gifts by our sculptors in every colour and size
and even Cherry Jaquet’s Cretan mythical beast.
These are all unusual items for your own gardens or unique gifts.
There is something, too, for children who remember their stories: CJ’s The Cow Jumped over the Moon – actually hanging from the branch of a tree! and Cherry Jaquet’s owl and pussycat seeming to talk to each other.
In addition there is Bronwyn's lovely ceramic Christmas candle and a few magical bird baths, dishes and pots by Sally Dorrity.
But don't fear if you haven't had time to visit and choose a treasure before Christmas. For those who are given a choice of their own gift after Christmas the Library will be open 27,28,30 and morning of 31 December as well as the usual opening times in 2025!
